Hugo Rockwool Propagation Cubes

Propagation Media

Hugo Rockwool Block with 36mm hole for transplanting your propagation cubes into or can also be used as a standalone growing medium. These blocks are only available with a 36mm hole.

Description

Hugo Rockwool Block (36mm hole) are used to transplant your rooted cuttings or seeds into with the idea being to either grow your babies to a suitable size before moving them in to your hydroponic system alternatively given their larger size you can use the Grodan Hugo block as a standalone growing medium for smaller sized plants. These rockwool blocks have a 36mm hole to fit 36mm rockwool propagation cubes, Jiffy plugs and fleximix plugs.

Rockwool is produced from basalt rock, which is melted and then spun into thin fibres. These are mixed with a binding agent and compressed into slabs that are cut into the smaller cubes used for propagation.

Directions

Before using rockwool growing medium always pre-soak it for 24hrs in a weak nutrient solution (1 to 1.2 EC) with a pH of 5.2 to 5.5 and add a dose of Canna Rhizotonic if your budget allows. The pre soaking is important as rockwool has a high pH so by soaking it in a lower than normal pH it will stabilize around the 5.8 to 6.2 level you want for hydroponics growing.
